ABOUT US
Why We Exist
At Doula Business Pathways, we believe that the passion and care doulas bring to their work should be matched by confident business strategy and long-term sustainability.
Too often, doulas complete their training eager to serve, but unsure of how to run a business. They may find themselves uncertain of how to price their services, how to confidently conduct interviews, or how to set boundaries that protect their energy and availability. And for some, success comes quickly—but it brings new challenges: increased administrative work, burnout, and maybe decisions about adding offerings or launching an agency.
Unfortunately, there’s no one roadmap. No template. No comprehensive guide to making a doula business work for you.
That’s why we’re here.
What We Offer
Doula Business Pathways was created to support both individual doulas and agency owners. Our resources are crafted to help you make confident, informed decisions—whether you’re just starting out, ready to grow, or restructuring to avoid burnout.
We offer:
Live and pre-recorded workshops on essential business topics
Free downloads and resources for career clarity and sustainability
1:1 coaching for agency owners looking to lead strong teams and build smart systems
The topics that don’t fit inside a typical doula training—like business models, policies, agency structure, pricing, conflict resolution, and scaling—are our specialty.
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all advice. Instead, we help you find the version of success that fits your goals, your values, and your lifestyle.

Meet Our Leadership
Kathryn Keener founded Doula Business Pathways after nearly a decade of running a successful postpartum doula agency. Over the years, she mentored dozens of doulas and realized that what most of them needed—more than technical skills—was solid, strategic, and sustainable business advice.
Kathryn brings a unique blend of experience to her work:
- A professional background in negotiation and conflict resolution
- Advanced training via elite business coaching
- Real-life insight as a practicing doula and longtime agency owner
Because she’s deeply familiar with the doula community and culture, Kathryn understands the unique challenges doulas face: navigating emotions, managing unpredictable schedules, and pricing a service that’s often seen as “heart work.” Her approach is grounded, flexible, and realistic—focused on helping doulas and agency owners thrive without burning out.
